Can we book a single visit, or a nurse for the night?

Either. Most urgent calls are a single visit for one job. A nurse can also stay for the night where a drip has to finish or a patient needs watching until morning.

Can we ask for a male or female nurse?

Yes. Say which you would prefer at the start of the call. At night the choice is narrower, and the coordinator will tell you straight away if only one nurse can reach you.

Can a nurse give a drip or injection at home?

Yes, against a valid prescription from your doctor, using sterile single-use equipment. The nurse checks the medicine’s name, strength and expiry date in front of you first. Without a prescription we cannot give a drip or an injection, whatever the hour.

Do you have ICU-trained nurses for urgent calls?

Yes, and they take the urgent calls needing more clinical judgement, such as difficult cannulation or a patient on home oxygen. A patient who genuinely needs intensive care needs a hospital bed, and we will tell you that rather than send a nurse.

How is an urgent night visit charged?

An urgent visit is charged as a visit, with night and holiday call-outs priced separately, and the figure is given on the phone before a nurse sets off. Consumables such as cannulas, dressings and catheters are itemised, so you can see what was used.

What should we have ready before the nurse arrives?

The doctor’s prescription, the prescribed medicines or drip bags, and any discharge summary or recent reports. A clean surface near the bed, a strong light and somewhere to wash hands all help. Mention allergies, blood thinners and diabetes while we are still on the call.

How soon can a nurse reach us in Lahore?
