Blood Sample Collection at Home in Lahore

A trained phlebotomist comes to your home to draw blood for the tests your doctor has asked for, using a kit that is sealed until the visit. Tubes are labelled at your bedside and the report is shared with you digitally.

Blood Sample Collection at Home

When you book, we confirm the tests on your doctor’s slip and tell you whether fasting is needed. The phlebotomist arrives with a sealed kit, checks the patient’s name against the request, and chooses a comfortable position, lying down if the patient is frail. Tubes are labelled immediately and kept at the right temperature on the way to the laboratory.

Services Include

Goal

To make routine and follow-up blood tests easy for families, with careful collection at home and clear reports your doctor can act on.

Who Should Book a Home Blood Test?

Home collection suits an elderly parent who finds the journey harder than the test, a bedridden or recovering patient, and anyone whose doctor wants repeat bloods for diabetes, kidney, liver or thyroid treatment. It helps after a hospital discharge, when the summary lists follow-up tests, and during pregnancy when routine bloods are requested. It also suits a working household that would rather not lose a morning to queues.

What Happens at the Visit

The phlebotomist washes their hands, puts on fresh gloves and opens a new needle and tubes in front of you. They check the patient’s name against the test request, then choose a position that is comfortable, lying down if the patient is frail. The skin is cleaned, the sample is drawn, pressure and a small plaster follow, and every tube is labelled before they leave the room.

How the Sample Is Handled

A blood test can be spoiled long before the laboratory sees it. Tubes are filled in the right order, labelled at the bedside rather than in the car, and kept at a suitable temperature on the way to a partner laboratory. Needles go into a sharps container that the phlebotomist takes away. Your report is then shared with you digitally.

Who It Helps

Patients We Draw Blood For at Home

We confirm the tests on your doctor’s request before the visit, then set a time that fits any fasting.

Elderly Parents at Home

Blood drawn while your parent stays seated or lying in their own bed.

Bedridden Patients

Samples taken at the bedside, so nobody has to be lifted into a car.

Repeat Testing

HbA1c, creatinine and thyroid levels on a regular schedule.

After Hospital Discharge

The follow-up bloods listed in the discharge summary, done at home.

Fasting Tests Before Breakfast

Early visits for fasting sugar and lipid profiles, so the patient can eat soon after the sample is taken.

Busy Households

Working families who would rather not spend a morning travelling and waiting in a queue.

Our Approach

Most of what goes wrong with a blood test happens before the laboratory is involved: the wrong tube, a sample labelled from memory, or a patient who was never told to fast. We try to close those gaps at the bedside.

How a Visit Works

  1. Send the test request — a photograph of your doctor’s slip on WhatsApp tells us exactly which tests to arrange.
  2. Preparation confirmed — we say whether fasting is needed, how long for, and when water is fine.
  3. Collection at home — a trained phlebotomist draws the sample, labels the tubes beside you and removes the sharps.
  4. Report shared with you — the laboratory report comes to you digitally, ready to forward to your doctor.

If a result needs explaining — we can arrange a doctor consultation rather than interpreting the report ourselves.

Getting the Sample Right

A repeat visit is a nuisance for everyone, so we would rather be careful once. Identity checked, tubes labelled in the room, and anything unusual about the draw written down for the laboratory to see.

Blood Tests for Elderly and Bedridden Patients

Unhurried collection in familiar surroundings

Looking for a home blood test for an elderly parent in Lahore? Older skin and veins need patience rather than speed. The phlebotomist warms the arm, takes time choosing a vein, and works with the patient lying down if sitting up is tiring. If a draw is difficult we stop rather than keep trying, and arrange another visit or a second phlebotomist. Families are welcome to stay in the room throughout.
Our phlebotomists visit homes across Lahore, including Johar Town, Model Town, Gulberg, DHA, Bahria Town and Wapda Town. Where your doctor also wants readings between tests, see our blood sugar monitoring and blood pressure monitoring visits.

FAQs

Blood Sample Collection FAQs

Common questions about home blood sample collection in Lahore.

When can a collection visit be booked?

Visits are booked by appointment. Fasting tests take the first slots of the day, because nobody should go without food for longer than necessary. Non-fasting tests can be collected later in the morning, in the afternoon or in the evening, whichever suits the household best.
One trained phlebotomist attends a collection visit, because a blood draw does not need two people. If a vein is hard to find we would rather stop and send a second phlebotomist another time than make repeated attempts on the same arm. Where a nurse is already visiting for other care, the draw can be done during that visit.
Very little. The phlebotomist brings the needle, tubes, gloves, antiseptic and a sharps container. Have the test request or prescription to hand, along with a list of current medicines, and a chair or bed where the patient can sit or lie comfortably in good light.
Often a visit can be arranged the same day, depending on your area in Lahore and who is free. Fasting tests are the exception. Those are better booked for early the next morning than squeezed into an evening, so the patient is not asked to fast twice.
Yes. Tell us when you book and we will match it where someone is available. Many families ask for a female phlebotomist for a female patient, especially an elderly mother, and that is an ordinary request rather than an awkward one.
There is a charge for the home visit and a separate charge for the tests the laboratory runs, which depends on what your doctor has asked for. Your coordinator tells you both before you confirm the booking. Several tests collected in one visit need only one visit charge.
Call the coordinator rather than the phlebotomist. Another trained phlebotomist is sent in their place, and if the delay would push a fasting patient too far into the morning we will say so and rebook.
Blood is drawn by trained phlebotomists and qualified nurses. The report is produced by a partner laboratory and read by your doctor. We do not interpret results, although we will tell you if the laboratory has flagged a value, so that you can contact your doctor without delay.
