A doctor home visit is a full consultation in your own house. The doctor arrives with a stethoscope, blood pressure monitor, pulse oximeter, thermometer and glucometer, examines your relative without moving them, reviews the medicines already in the drawer and writes a prescription. It suits fever, chest and urine infections, dehydration and flare-ups of long-term conditions, and it is not a substitute for an emergency department.

A specialist consultation is an opinion from a doctor with advanced training in one field: heart, lungs, kidneys, hormones and diabetes, brain and nerves, joints, skin or elderly medicine. What a Consultation at Home Cannot Replace
A doctor at your bedside has a medical bag, not a hospital. There is no X-ray, no CT scanner, no ward bed and no operating theatre at your house, and a video call cannot examine anyone at all. For chest pain, severe breathlessness, stroke signs, a seizure, heavy bleeding or collapse, call 1122 or go straight to the nearest emergency department.

A full consultation: history, examination, vital signs including blood pressure, oxygen and sugar, a review of the medicines already in the house, an explanation in plain Urdu or English, treatment where it is safe to start at home, and a written prescription.
Can we book a single consultation or regular reviews?
Either. Book a single visit when something new comes up, or a plan of regular reviews for a long-term condition or a recovery after discharge. Home visits and video consultations can be mixed in the same plan, and you can change or pause it.
Can we ask for a male or female doctor?
Yes, and it is worth asking. Say when you book whether your relative would be more comfortable with a male or female doctor, and whether they would rather speak Urdu or Punjabi. We match both where someone suitable is free in your area.
Can the doctor prescribe medicines and order tests?
The doctor can prescribe, and can recommend blood tests, an ECG or scans, explaining what each is for. Injections and drips are given by a nurse rather than the doctor, and we book that separately as home nursing once it has been prescribed.
Can a home or online consultation handle an emergency?
No, and this matters. Home and online consultations are for problems that are not immediately life-threatening. Chest pain, severe breathlessness, stroke signs, a seizure, heavy bleeding or collapse need 1122 or an emergency department. Our doctors will also send a patient to hospital whenever that is the safer choice.
How are consultation fees worked out?
Per consultation. The fee depends on the service, your area and the time of day, and a specialist costs more than a general doctor while a video call costs less than a visit. Tests, medicines and nursing are quoted separately, before anything is booked.
What should we prepare before the doctor arrives?
Recent prescriptions, discharge summaries and test reports in one folder, and the medicines your relative is actually taking, including the ones they have stopped. Note when the symptoms started and any readings you have. A quiet, well-lit room helps, as does a relative who knows the history.
How quickly can a doctor reach us in Lahore?
Across most of Lahore a doctor usually reaches you within about two hours, depending on traffic and availability, and we give you an honest arrival window. Specialist appointments and counselling sessions are booked ahead, usually within a few days.
