ICU Setup at Home
Before anything is delivered, a senior nurse visits to look at the room, check the power supply and note how a bed, a concentrator and a stretcher can be moved in. We then read the discharge summary and your doctor’s written advice, agree the equipment list and the nursing cover with your family, and put in writing what the setup covers and what it does not. Equipment is installed and tested, the family is shown the oxygen and suction controls, and nursing shifts begin only once that check is complete.
To make closely monitored nursing care possible at home for a patient your doctor has judged stable enough to leave hospital, with the equipment, the staffing and the limits all agreed in writing before care begins.
When It Fits
Patients still on oxygen, suction or tube feeds after a long admission.
Stable patients whose doctor has advised oxygen and monitoring at home.
Long-term cases needing suction, positioning and feeds through a tube.
Families who have chosen symptom relief at home near the end of life.
Short-term cover while a transfer or a procedure is being scheduled.
Unstable patients, or anyone who may need a ventilator or dialysis.
Shifts start — nursing cover begins only once that check is complete, never before.
