Elderly Care

Senior Citizen Care at Home in Lahore

For a parent who is managing well, but managing alone. A trained companion visits on a regular schedule for conversation, walks, errands, appointments and help keeping in touch with children who live abroad.

What Senior Citizen Care Means

Senior citizen care is companionship and light practical help for an older person who is still largely independent. A trained companion visits on an agreed schedule to sit and talk, walk with your parent, take them to the market, bank or pharmacy, accompany them to the doctor, the mosque, a wedding or a friend’s house, and help with a phone or tablet so they can see their grandchildren.

This is the one elderly service that is not about declining health. There is no bathing, no lifting and no clinical work in it. The work is keeping an older person active, occupied and in touch with people, because inactivity, skipped meals and long silent days quietly wear down health and mood faster than most families expect.

Services Include

Goal

The aim is to keep a senior independent for longer, not to take over. Your parent decides how the visit goes. The companion fits in with it, keeps them moving and talking, handles the errands that have become awkward, and tells the family honestly if mood, appetite or steadiness seems to be slipping.

Which Seniors Benefit From Companion Visits?

A father who retired and has not left the house regularly since. A mother who stopped driving and now waits for someone to take her out. A widow or widower in the first difficult year alone. A parent whose children all work full days, or live in another country. None of them is ill. What they are short of is company, a reason to get dressed and go out, and someone to handle the queue at the bank.

What a Companion Visit Looks Like

Usually tea and a conversation about the news, then a walk in the lane or the nearest park, a few gentle stretches, and whatever needs doing outside the house: the pharmacy, a utility bill, vegetables from the market. Towards the end the companion helps set up a video call with children or grandchildren, checks appointments and tablets are not being forgotten, and writes a short note to the family.

Getting Out of the House Again

Many seniors stop going out after one bad experience, a stumble on a broken footpath or a frightening crossing. Confidence goes before strength does. Companions rebuild it slowly: a short route first, rest stops planned, water carried in the summer heat, a hand offered at kerbs and uneven ground, and traffic crossed together. Most parents who start with ten minutes are walking considerably further within a few weeks.

Who It Suits

Seniors Who Gain Most From a Companion

We meet your parent first and plan the visits around their interests, friendships and habits rather than a standard checklist.

Living Alone

A parent whose house is quiet from morning until the children ring at night.

Recently Widowed

Steady, unhurried company through the long first year after losing a spouse.

Children Overseas

Someone present in Lahore, plus help with the video calls that keep families close.

Stopped Going Out

Gentle encouragement back into walks, markets, the mosque and family gatherings.

Errands Becoming Hard

Banks, bills, pharmacies and paperwork handled with your parent, not behind their back.

Low Mood or Boredom

Conversation, games, newspapers and old interests picked up again.

Company, Not Control

The quickest way to lose an older person’s trust is to start managing them. Our companions ask before they help, follow your parent’s plan for the day rather than their own, and leave decisions, money and household matters where they belong.

How Visits Are Arranged

  1. Introduction: we meet your parent with a relative present, and talk about interests, friends, health and what help would actually be welcome.
  2. Schedule set: two or three visits a week, daily visits, or longer visits on the days the family cannot be there.
  3. Companion matched: on language, temperament and shared interests, with gender preference respected.
  4. Ground rules agreed: what the companion may spend, where they may take your parent, and who is told what.
  5. Short note after each visit: where they went, how your parent seemed, anything worth a doctor’s attention.

What Families Tell Us Matters

Visits that actually happen, with a relief companion arranged rather than a cancelled day. A written note each time, so families abroad are not guessing. And a coordinator who remembers your parent by name.

Company Now, or Care for Later?

When companionship is no longer enough

Senior citizen care assumes your parent can still wash, dress and move about safely on their own. That is what separates it from the rest of our elderly services, and it is worth being honest about where your parent actually is. A companion will tell you when things change, and the usual sign is that help with the body starts to matter more than company.

Once bathing, dressing or the washroom need help, move to elderly home care. If a condition needs clinical attention, book elderly nursing care. If memory loss is the real issue, dementia care is the service to ask about.

FAQs

Senior Citizen Care FAQs

Questions families ask before arranging companion visits for a parent.

How long and how often are the visits?

Companion visits are not run in shifts. Most families book two to four hours at a fixed time on set days, often late morning or early evening when the house would otherwise be empty. Longer visits can be arranged on working days, and overnight presence is a different service, handled by an attendant.
Neither, in this service. A companion is not a nurse, and one companion covers the visits you book, with a relief companion introduced in advance where possible. We deliberately keep it to one familiar face, because the whole value of companion care is that your parent knows who is coming.
Nothing, beyond telling us the ground rules. Agree in advance what the companion may spend on errands and how receipts are handled, where your parent may be taken and who in the family is updated. If outings are planned, your parent’s own walking stick, glasses, hearing aid and medicines should come along.
Companion care is rarely urgent, and rushing it is a mistake. We would normally meet your parent first, which usually happens within a day or two, then start visits once they have met the companion. If the need is genuinely immediate, tell the coordinator and we will work to it.
Yes, and here it matters more than usual, because conversation is the service. Tell us your preference and also the language your parent is most comfortable in. We match on both, and on temperament, since a quiet father and a talkative companion rarely suit each other.
Charges follow the number and length of visits, so two mornings a week costs much less than daily visits. Companion care is our lowest-priced elderly service, because no clinical skill is involved. Travel for outings and anything bought on errands are separate, and settled with you directly.
Ring the coordinator rather than the companion. A relief companion is briefed on your parent’s routine, interests and preferences beforehand, and where there is time we introduce them in advance so your parent is not meeting a stranger alone.
Yes, but through our home nursing service, not this one. Senior citizen care involves no clinical work at all. If your parent needs monitoring, oxygen or close nursing attention, speak to the coordinator about elderly nursing care instead.
