Mother & Baby Care

Mother Care at Home in Lahore

Day-to-day help for the mother herself, in her own home. A trained caregiver supports rest, meals, washing, safe movement after a caesarean and the night feeds, so recovery is not something she has to carry alone.

Mother Care at Home

We start by understanding the delivery, the mother’s health, any doctor’s instructions and your family’s routines, including customs during chilla. The caregiver then works day shifts, nights or live-in, helping with washing, dressing, meals, fluids and gentle walks, bringing the baby for feeds and settling the baby afterwards, and keeping the mother’s room clean, calm and restful.

Services Include

Goal

To help mothers rest, heal and regain their strength after birth, with practical, respectful support that lets them focus on their baby and their own recovery.

Who Should Book Mother Care at Home?

Mother care suits a first-time mother with no experienced relative nearby, a woman recovering from a caesarean or a long labour, a mother of twins, and families whose elders live abroad or cannot travel. It also helps women on doctor-advised bed rest in late pregnancy, and mothers who are simply exhausted and need a capable, kind pair of hands for a few weeks.

Where This Differs From Postnatal Care

Postnatal care is nursing. A qualified nurse checks blood pressure, bleeding, stitches or a caesarean wound and gives prescribed medicines, usually across the first six weeks. Mother care is the practical and physical side, given by a trained caregiver rather than a nurse, and it often runs well past six weeks. Families who need both can have them in one plan, written by the same senior nurse.

What a Caregiver Does Each Day

A shift starts with a handover from the family. The caregiver helps the mother wash and change, serves breakfast and fluids, and encourages gentle walking if her doctor has advised it. Through the day she brings the baby for feeds, helps with comfortable positions, keeps the room clean and calm, and protects the mother’s sleep. Before leaving she notes how the mother ate, slept and felt.

Mothers We Support

Situations Where Mother Care Helps Most

A senior nurse assesses the mother first. The shift pattern and the caregiver are then matched to what the household needs.

First-Time Mothers

Steady, patient help when there is no experienced relative in the house.

After a Caesarean

Support getting up, walking and bathing without straining the wound.

Mothers of Twins

An extra pair of hands through the longest stretches of the day.

Doctor-Advised Bed Rest

Help with daily tasks in late pregnancy when a doctor has advised rest.

Families Living Apart

Cover for households whose parents and elders live in another city or abroad.

Exhausted Mothers

Night support so the mother sleeps, and a gentle eye on low mood.

How We Work

Mother care works when the caregiver fits the household. We assess before we place anyone, write down what she will and will not do, and keep the same senior nurse on your file, so nothing has to be explained twice.

From Call to Care

  1. Home assessment — a senior nurse visits, reads the discharge notes and sees what the mother actually needs.
  2. Plan agreed — day shifts, nights or live-in, and what the caregiver will handle, written down with your family.
  3. Caregiver matched — chosen on experience, language, and your preference for a female caregiver.
  4. Care starts with a handover — the first shift begins with the family, not with a phone call.

Weekly review — the senior nurse checks how the mother is eating, sleeping and healing, and adjusts the plan.

What This Changes at Home

Letting someone outside the family care for a new mother takes trust. We try to earn it in small ways: the same caregiver wherever we can, a written note at the end of each shift, and one number to ring if anything feels wrong.

Mother Care During Doctor-Advised Bed Rest

Support before the baby arrives

Some pregnancies end in weeks of rest on a doctor’s instruction, with a house still to run. A caregiver can take on the lifting, the cooking and the fetching, help the mother wash and change, and keep her company through long, dull days. She follows the obstetrician’s instructions about movement and does not take their place: anything that worries her goes to our senior nurse and to you the same day.
Caregivers reach homes across Johar Town, DHA, Gulberg, Model Town, Bahria Town, Valencia and Cantt. If you mainly need clinical checks after delivery, see our postnatal care; for the baby’s feeding, bathing and cord care, see newborn baby care.

FAQs

Mother Care at Home FAQs

Common questions about mother care at home in Lahore.

How long is a day or night shift?

A day shift usually runs about twelve hours, and a night shift covers the hours when the mother most needs to sleep. You can book one or both, or ask for a live-in caregiver who stays in the house with agreed rest breaks. Shift times are set to suit your household, not ours.
For mother care it is one caregiver per shift. Round-the-clock cover means two, one for the day and one for the night, because nobody stays alert for twenty-four hours. A live-in caregiver is a single person who sleeps in the house and works agreed hours, which suits a settled recovery better than a difficult one.
Somewhere for the caregiver to sit, wash her hands and keep her things, and the mother’s prescribed medicines and dressings if a nurse is visiting too. Tell us what is already in the house, such as a feeding chair, a breast pump or a cot, so we do not ask you to arrange it twice.
Often yes, if a caregiver is free in your area. Most families plan ahead around the due date or the discharge date, which gets a better match. If you are already home and struggling, call or WhatsApp and the coordinator will tell you plainly what is possible tonight.
Almost every family books a female caregiver for mother care, and that is what we normally send. Say so when you book and we will match it where one is available in your area. Male staff work on our other services, not on personal care for the mother.
Charges depend on whether you book visits, day shifts, nights or live-in cover, and for how many weeks. Night and live-in cover are priced differently from day shifts. Your coordinator gives you the figure before care begins and tells you in advance if anything needs to change.
Ring the coordinator rather than the caregiver. We keep relief caregivers available for days like this, and whoever comes instead reads the shift notes before she starts, so the mother does not have to explain her routine again.
Mother care is caregiver support, not intensive nursing. A mother who needs that level of care should be in hospital, and we will say so. Where closer monitoring at home makes sense, our postnatal nurses can visit alongside the caregiver, and ICU-trained nurses are available through our home nursing service.
