Lahore is a big city with a lot of patients, and almost every one of them depends on a nurse at some point. That is why nursing jobs in Lahore are among the easier healthcare jobs to find. They are also easy to get wrong. A job that looks good on paper can mean a long commute, split shifts and months of unpaid waiting before your first pay. Another one can fit your life well, if you know what to ask.

This guide is for nurses, nursing students about to graduate, and midwives or attendants who are thinking about their next step. We have tried to keep it honest, so we say plainly where we do not know something, and we leave out salary numbers that change from one employer to the next.

What Kinds of Nursing Jobs in Lahore Are Available?

Most nurse jobs in Lahore fall into five groups.

1. Government and teaching hospitals. These are the large public hospitals and teaching institutions. Jobs here are usually advertised through official notices and public service commissions, with set application dates and written tests. The work is busy. Wards are crowded, and you learn a great deal quickly.

2. Private hospitals and clinics. Private hospitals hire staff nurses throughout the year. Hiring is faster than in the public sector, and openings are often posted on the hospital’s own page or through job websites. Shifts, workload and pay depend a lot on the hospital, so ask for the details in writing before you accept.

3. Home nursing jobs in Lahore. More families now prefer to look after a sick or elderly person at home, so home care nurse jobs have grown. A home nurse works one to one with a patient: dressings, injections, monitoring, medicine reminders and comfort. Hours are more flexible, and some nurses take home visits next to a hospital job.

4. Specialised units and diagnostic or dialysis centres. If you have experience in ICU, dialysis, operation theatre or emergency, these roles are worth searching for separately.

5. NGOs, community health programmes and overseas placements. Less common, but they exist. Overseas roles need extra exams and paperwork, so plan well ahead.

What do employers usually ask for?

Requirements change with each job, but the same things come up again and again.

Nursing jobs for females and nursing jobs for males in Lahore

Both are in demand. Many families specifically ask for a female nurse for a female patient, and a male nurse for a male patient who needs personal care. That means male nurses have a real advantage in home care, particularly for lifting, mobility and personal care for men, and female nurses are in steady demand for elderly women, new mothers and women recovering from surgery. If you are a male nurse who has felt that hospital hiring leaves you out, home nursing is worth a look.

How to apply for a nursing job in Lahore (step by step)

  1. Update your CV. Keep it to one or two pages. List your qualification, PNC registration number, places you have worked, and the procedures you are confident in (IV cannulation, wound dressing, catheter care and so on). Do not list skills you have never practised.
  2. Gather scanned documents. Put your CNIC, degree, registration and experience letters in one folder on your phone, so you can send them quickly.
  3. Search in the right places. Hospital websites, official government notices, job portals, nursing groups and direct applications to home care providers all work.
  4. Apply to several jobs at once. Do not wait for one reply before sending the next application.
  5. Prepare for a practical test. Many employers watch you do a procedure. Revise hand hygiene, vital signs, safe injections and documentation.
  6. Ask the right questions before saying yes. See the checklist below.

Questions to ask before accepting any nursing job

If an employer cannot answer these clearly, treat that as an answer.

Hospital job or home nursing: which suits you better?

Neither is better for everyone. Here is a fair comparison.

Hospital jobHome nursing
PatientsMany at onceUsually one at a time
HoursFixed shiftsOften flexible, can be part-time
PayUsually a monthly salaryOften per visit or per shift, sometimes revenue-share
GrowthClear grades and seniorityBuilds through reputation and repeat families
PressureBusy wards, many tasksOne patient, closer relationship with the family

Some nurses keep a hospital job and take home visits on days off. That is a sensible way to try home care without giving up a steady income.

Where Teemardari fits in

We want to be clear about this, so there are no surprises later. Teemardari does not offer salaried hospital posts. We run a home healthcare service in Lahore, and we work with nurses, attendants, physiotherapists, doctors and sample collectors as independent partners who take on patient requests in their own area. You are paid your share of each visit, and the arrangement is explained to you before you accept a case.

If that sounds like a fit, read about our Nursing Jobs and partner network, and you can apply directly through our Apply for a Job page or email your CV to info@teemardari.online with the subject line Role – Area – Your Name. There is no joining fee.

To see the kind of work our nurses do, you can read about our home nursing services in Lahore, such as 24-hour home nursing care, or about male and female home nurses. We also work in patient care at home and elderly care at home, and you can check the areas we cover on our Lahore location page.

Common mistakes that cost nurses a good job

Frequently asked questions

Are there enough nursing jobs in Lahore for new graduates?

Yes, openings appear regularly, though the best-paid roles usually go to people with some experience. Fresh graduates often start in junior or training positions and build from there.

Is PNC registration compulsory?

Most formal employers ask for it, and practising without valid registration can cause problems for you. Check the Council’s official website for the current requirements.

Can I work as a home nurse and keep my hospital job?

Many nurses do, as long as shifts do not clash and your hospital allows it. Check your contract first.

What are the working hours for home nursing jobs in Lahore?

They vary. Some families need a nurse for a short daily visit, others need night duty or 24-hour care. Part-time and shift-based arrangements are common.

What documents do I need to apply?

Usually your CNIC, qualification certificates, PNC registration, experience letters and a CV.

Does Teemardari charge a fee to join?

No. We do not charge any joining fee.
