Fracture Rehabilitation
We ask for the latest X-ray report and the orthopaedic doctor’s instructions before starting. The physiotherapist measures joint movement, swelling and strength, and checks how your loved one walks or uses the arm. Treatment moves from gentle mobility work to strengthening and balance, with crutches, a walker or a stick introduced and then reduced as the doctor permits.
To help the injured limb move, bear weight and function as well as possible, safely and at the pace the healing bone allows.
Who It Helps
Standing, walking and stair practice after a hip fracture, with fall prevention built in.
Restoring the stiff wrist and grip after plaster or plating, and easing swelling.
Graded weight-bearing, calf strength and balance work before walking unaided.
Gentle range work, then strengthening, so the arm is usable overhead again.
Rehabilitation around plates, rods, nails or external fixators, with pin sites checked at each visit.
Posture, log-rolling and safe movement within the brace restrictions your doctor has set.
Review — the plan is revised after each orthopaedic follow-up, because the permitted load usually changes there.
Tell us who needs care and we’ll call you back to confirm the visit, the timing and what the patient needs.
