Paralysis Rehabilitation at Home in Lahore

Living with paralysis is a long road for the whole household. Our therapists visit regularly to keep joints moving, strengthen whatever muscle still works, protect the skin and chest, and help your loved one manage transfers and a wheelchair.

Paralysis Rehabilitation at Home

Care starts with a detailed assessment of which muscles work, skin condition, sitting balance, breathing and the equipment already at home. The therapist then designs a routine of passive and active exercises, stretching, positioning and transfer practice. For someone who is bedbound, visits also focus on helping prevent pressure sores and keeping the chest clear, working closely with nurses or attendants.

Services Include

Goal

To keep the body as healthy, comfortable and capable as possible, and help your loved one and family manage paralysis with greater independence and safety.

Who Paralysis Rehabilitation Is For

This service supports people with paraplegia, quadriplegia or one-sided paralysis following a spinal cord injury, a severe stroke, Guillain-Barre syndrome, cerebral palsy, a brain injury or nerve disease, whether the event was recent or years ago. It also supports bedbound patients who need their joints and skin looked after, and the relatives and attendants who lift and turn them every day.

Protecting the Body Day to Day

Where a limb is not used, the joints tighten, the muscles shorten into contractures, the skin over the pressure points breaks down and secretions settle on the chest. Much of this therapy is the quiet work of preventing those things: every joint taken through its full range, tight muscles stretched, the chest cleared, and positioning reset before the therapist leaves.

Building the Independence That Remains

Alongside that protective work, we train whatever function is available. That may mean strengthening the arms so a sliding-board transfer becomes possible, practising sitting balance so your loved one can eat at the table, or learning to propel and brake a wheelchair indoors. Small gains in these skills change how much of family life a person can join.

Who It Supports

Conditions and Needs We Cover

Each programme starts from which muscles still work, the state of the skin, sitting balance and the equipment already at home.

Spinal Cord Injury

Range of motion, sitting balance and transfer training after paraplegia or quadriplegia.

Severe Stroke With Paralysis

Positioning, stretching and handling where one side has little or no movement.

Guillain-Barre and Nerve Disease

Graded strengthening as nerves recover, paced to avoid exhausting the patient.

Bedbound Patients

Turning routines, pressure-sore prevention and chest clearance for someone who cannot move.

Cerebral Palsy

Stretching, positioning and functional practice for children and adults living with spasticity.

Family and Attendant Training

Safe lifting, turning and positioning, so carers do not injure their own backs.

Our Approach

Progress here is measured in what does not happen: no new contracture, no pressure sore, no chest infection this month. We keep the same therapist on the case wherever we can, because that is how a small change in the skin or in strength gets noticed early.

How It Works

  1. Full assessment — which muscles work, skin condition over the pressure points, sitting balance, breathing and the equipment at home.
  2. Protective routine — passive and active range of motion, stretching against contractures and a positioning plan.
  3. Chest and skin care — breathing exercises and clearance techniques, with a turning schedule the family can follow.
  4. Functional training — rolling, sitting up, sliding-board transfers and wheelchair skills, as far as they are possible.

Carer handover — the family or attendant is taught the daily routine and shown what to report.

Why Continuity Matters Here

Reduced feeling means an injury can go unnoticed for days. A therapist who sees the same skin, the same joints and the same sheets each week spots the early redness that a new face would miss.

Physiotherapy for Bedridden and Paralysed Patients

Care that protects the skin and chest

Searching for physiotherapy for a paralysis patient at home in Lahore usually means someone in the family has become responsible for turning, feeding and cleaning another adult. The therapist takes part of that weight: the joints are moved properly, the chest is cleared, the turning schedule is written down, and you are shown the lifting technique that protects your own back as well as your relative’s skin.
We visit homes across Lahore, including Johar Town, DHA, Gulberg, Model Town, Iqbal Town and Raiwind Road. Where turning, hygiene and feeding need daily hands, see bedridden patient care and patient attendant services.

FAQs

Paralysis Rehabilitation FAQs

Common questions about paralysis rehabilitation at home in Lahore.

How often should therapy happen?

Most families book two to four visits a week, each around an hour, and carry out the daily range-of-motion and turning routine themselves in between. The therapist teaches that routine and reviews it, because daily movement matters more than any single session.
Sometimes movement returns and sometimes the change is lasting, and which it will be is not ours to promise. What regular therapy does reliably is reduce stiffness and contractures, protect the skin and chest, keep the working muscles strong, and teach new ways to manage daily life.
A bed that can be reached from both sides if possible, the mattress or air mattress already in use, and any wheelchair, commode or sliding board you own. Bring the neurologist’s or surgeon’s notes. The therapist will say whether a different cushion or a bed rail is worth buying.
That is central to the work. The therapist checks the skin over the pressure points at every visit, sets a turning schedule, advises on the mattress or cushion, and teaches the family to keep sheets dry and wrinkle-free and to report early redness rather than wait.
Yes, and we encourage it. The person who lifts, turns and positions your relative every day is the one who most needs the technique. The therapist teaches them directly and corrects their handling, rather than doing it alone once a week.
Yes. Because this therapy involves intimate positioning, stretching and skin checks, we treat the preference as important rather than optional. Say when you book which you want, and an attendant or relative stays in the room throughout.
Paralysis rehabilitation usually continues for years rather than weeks, so the coordinator prices it as a weekly or monthly plan and says exactly what each visit includes. You can reduce the frequency once the family is confident with the daily routine.
A sudden pounding headache in a spinal cord injury patient, a fever, breathing difficulty, or a pressure sore that has broken the skin all need a doctor promptly, and 1122 if breathing is difficult. Therapy is paused until the doctor has reviewed them.
